Some time ago, I decided I wanted to set up my own business. In order to achieve this, however, I felt I needed to gain more business knowledge. I had studied Fine Art in South Africa, and I had quite a lot of relevant work experience, both in South Africa and in London, but I had never undertaken any business education or training before, so felt that I needed to do this before embarking on my business venture. I therefore decided that I should return to college in order to study business and marketing.
I found LCIBS on the internet and went to visit the college, and found it to be the most professional of all the colleges I visited. I also felt the course content of the Diploma in International Business & Marketing Management was exactly right for me, and I have always been pleased with the choice I made. The college is very professionally run and the lecturers are extremely knowledgeable. They have all worked within the industry they are teaching so the knowledge is first hand and the examples always real. This helps bring the classes to life and ensures your interest is always held.
I also enjoyed all the assignment and project work that I completed on the course, especially those where I was able to use my creativity. I particularly appreciated completing my Final Term Project because this would be so beneficial to me in the future. I based my project work on the business I was hoping to open, so completed all the planning which I had to carry out anyway and ended up with a complete business plan ready for my business venture. This was really helpful as I felt all the necessary planning work was done, so once I left LCIBS I could immediately start to set up my business. At the beginning of this year, I started my own company and have since been fortunate to work with some amazing people and high profile clients… it's been stressful but rewarding.
I was working whist studying and found it tough at first to combine studying with work. However, it got easier and I enjoyed always being busy. I had a great time at college and made some wonderful friends. I was sad to leave but was also excited by the opportunities completing the course had given me.

I was lucky enough to be able to take a year out to study in the UK, and enrolled at LCIBS on the Diploma in Public Relations and Marketing Communications. And I loved it!

Before LCIBS, I completed a law degree, spent two years working in Africa, one year working in France, and travelled in the Far East and America.
My experiences made me realise how many options there could be working for an international company, which is what led me to study on the Diploma in International Business & Marketing Management at LCIBS.
I started at the college full-time, but then got a job in London making it impossible for me to continue studying full-time. But my new company was keen for me to finish my studies at LCIBS because the course was going to give me a variety of knowledge and skills. So fortunately I was able to change to part-time study, attending classes at the college just a couple of days each week.
I have found the course very useful. At work, I have been able to apply things that I have learnt and have been able to look at problems from a variety of perspectives.
Meeting students at LCIBS from other countries has also helped broaden my international outlook, which is important in my job as my company values employees who are culturally aware on an international level.

After completing my degree programme in Canada, I decided to continue my education in London, as I had always wanted to study here. I chose the Diploma in International Business Management at LCIBS as I liked the selection of subjects included on the programme.
I enjoyed my time at LCIBS and I achieved what I wanted to achieve while I was here. I came to learn and I learned a lot of new things, including many things apart from my studies. I also found the style of studying at LCIBS very different to that which I had experienced before. I found the course was taught in a more practical style than I had previously known, and as a result, I found the course content to be a lot more useful.
I really had a great time and enjoyed it at LCIBS. I will miss it a lot.

After completing an Engineering degree in Japan I wanted complete change!
I came to England and spent one year studying English language before taking Diploma in International Business Management at LCIBS. I gained a lot from LCIBS.
I never realized how much there was to learn about business. As a student of LCIBS you learn by using practical examples and situations which brings the subject to life. You have to work hard but it really benefits you. Because of the small size of the classes you also get lots of attention from the staff who always are very helpful and caring. This college really gave me confidence to go out and work for a company which I felt totally unable to do before.
I am living in Tokyo now and I am working at marketing company that is my dream. My job is very hard but I will do my best and, after LCIBS, I know I can do it.

I started at LCIBS after working in the finance department of a metal trading company for 3 and 1⁄2 years. Prior to that, I had completed a degree programme. I decided to start studying again because I felt I needed additional training to put on my CV. I chose London as I felt an education from the UK would benefit me most in the future – plus I had been to London before and really enjoyed the city.
LCIBS was perfect for me as the college offered various start dates throughout the year. I was most impressed with the efficiency in which my application was processed – the enrolment procedure was so much better than I had expected.
I learnt so much from my studies at LCIBS both theoretically and practically. The practical nature of the training taught me more about real life situations than I could ever learn from a textbook. I was also impressed with the support offered by the college. In my first term I found it difficult to get back into studying after having been away from it for so long. However, I found the second term easier as I knew what to expect and was familiar with the way the college functioned. The staff are great - they really help the students achieve all that they want to achieve. The cultural diversity at the college is also a huge benefit. There are students of all ages and with different professional backgrounds from all over the world so you are exposed to so many cultures and experiences from which you can learn so much.
Now I am working for a large world renowned bank on Wall Street in New York, but I fondly remember my time at LCIBS. I met some great people there and was sad to leave. It was unlike any other college I had been to in the past, and there is a very personal feel to it.

I got to know about LCIBS on a visit to the British Council office in Nigeria, and was delighted by the wide choice of courses being offered. Having worked as a liaison officer in a construction firm for several years, I wanted a break from that, so I decided to study abroad.
Being away from familiar surroundings can be quite daunting, especially not having been in a study environment for so long, but everyone has been supportive and it is like a home away from home for me.You get to know the teachers on an almost personal basis and you feel relaxed to ask questions when you have them, which is important.
When I finish at LCIBS, I hope to do some travelling before returning home. I am excited about exploring a number of options which are now open to me based on what I have studied at LCIBS.

When I found LCIBS I knew that this was the college I was looking for. I liked the course content and the wide range of subjects I would be able to cover in such a short period.Although I was already a graduate in Industrial Engineering in Mexico and had a number of years work experience, I wanted to update and learn new information that would be useful for me in my career. Coming to LCIBS improved my knowledge and also my confidence with people. Only nice memories came into my head when I think about the college.
After leaving the college I first worked as a New Product Introduction Engineer for an international company which Head Office is located at the USA. I then changed my job and am now working as Lean Manufacturing and Cost Engineer Co-ordinator in an international company. In that job, I have the responsibility to give managers information about manufacturing cost performance, to provide annual budget and also as Lean Co-ordinator, I am responsible for introducing continuous improvement practices that result in reducing costs of our current operations. As you can see I have had a great growth since I left LCIBS, and I am really close to be posted as a Manufacturing Manager if things keep performing the right way. So I am absolutely sure that living and studying in London gave me not only knowledge but strength in how to overcome a difficult situation and how to perform better any single task of my job.

I had completed an MSc in Business Computing but felt the need to complete a business training course to complement my masters studies as my intention was to get into a business-related role in an IT company back in my home country. LCIBS’ Diploma in Business Administration met my requirements perfectly as it fitted in with the time I had available and covered the essential areas that I needed to cover on a business course.
I’m now working within the marketing division of a major IT company in Sri Lanka as a pre-sales technical consultant. My work requires a lot of presentations, client liaisons, creating tender proposals, managing accounts and sending out quotations, in addition to having to read many a business level agreement, balancing my product range accounts and meeting financial deadlines as a product specialist. This is where my diploma course at LCIBS, as I had planned, has helped immensely. Never would I have had the patience to sit and analyse a 3rd party software level agreement and explain any clauses to my boss and recommend or refuse involvement in it had I not sat through the Business Law module. And, wonders will never cease, but I actually know how to analyse financial details and figure out where and where not to give discounts or mark up prices in order for us to either break-even or make a profit.
My boss is extremely pleased with my overall knowledge, since my 6 years of IT combined with my business administration skills really did boost my chances of being able to move up into a different level in my career. We plan to expand our division to integrate a team of software personnel and my boss had sounded to me the possibility that I will be heading up that division. I better hurry and read up on those Management case studies! So, as you can see, I really have benefited immensely from the course I completed at LCIBS and I am very grateful to the college and the staff for having helped me though it.

I chose to come to LCIBS after doing some research and realising that the college was the best place to do a business course over a short period of time.
I wanted to come to London and learn some essential business subjects that would help me progress the business I co-own in Turkey. The business is a translation & interpretation services company with the Turkey office of the World Bank as our main client but with plans to expand our customer portfolio. My days in LCIBS helped me to combine my interpretation skills with essential business skills, and now back in Turkey I am using a lot of the things I learned at LCIBS in my business life. The LCIBS course was very useful. The manuals were very clear and the lessons were managed very well. I really do miss my days in London and at LCIBS.

After I completed a degree in Business Administration and Management in Spain, I decided to come and spend some time living and studying in London. My main motivation was to perfect my English, but I also wanted to study some business subjects in order to learn specialist business terminology. I enrolled on a 3 month English course, before starting an intensive 3-month course in Business Administration at LCIBS. It was intensive and the workload was high, but I was still able to manage with the demands of the course. I studied similar subjects in Spain which made things easier for me, but I still found it useful to do some familiar subjects again, as the subjects were taught in a totally different manner. When I came back to Spain, I started my job search and I was quite successful. Now I am working in the financial department of an important telecommunications company in Spain and I am really happy here, as I work with high qualified people, with a fantastic working environment and very interesting job content. I can’t have any complaints!
