In the spring of 2008, a small group of US based educators with a strong entrepreneurial background decided to expand their operations into the UK by acquiring an established private business college with a view to incorporating many of the innovations and visions which are the hallmarks of higher education in the USA. Following a lengthy and exhaustive search, the group settled on LCIBS with its rich history, high academic standards and solid reputation. Continuity in the standards previously established at the college are maintained with the previous owners and faculty working alongside the new owners to ensure a seamless acquisition. Together with fresh investment of resources the project of building a world class educational establishment continues.
The US group is now in the process of implementing a two year staged expansion program for the college which will involve broadening its existing portfolio of certificate and diploma courses. At the same time, the group is speaking with select universities in both the United Kingdom and the United States for them to validate and accept LCIBS qualifications. This will allow LCIBS students the ability to gain either a U.K or US Bachelor’s or MBA degree through LCIBS. To meet the demands of 21st century learning and the new global economy, an online learning platform will also be implemented to supplement the college’s traditional classroom based teaching model. Online learning will provide a flexible alternative for LCIBS students located anywhere in the world to continue their education. In addition to the above, the feasibility of establishing LCIBS learning centres in key cities such as Istanbul is also being examined. These learning centres will focus on assisting students to improve their English language skills, enrol in courses, prepare for examinations, familiarize themselves with LCIBS, and possibly gain a head start on course work prior to taking up their place at the campus in London.
