DIPLOMA IN
BUSINESS STUDIES
Course Code: DBS

The Diploma in Business Studies (DBS) is designed for those who would like to enrol on the Diploma in Business Administration (DBA), but are unable to study for 6 months. Unlike the DBA, the DBS is available on a fast-track basis and can be completed in as little as 3 months. If you enrol on the DBS, you will still cover most of the areas included on the DBA. (If you can study for 6 months, the DBA is likely to be the more suitable course for you, though the DBS can also be completed over a 6-month period on a full-time basis, or over a longer period on a part-time basis).

  • Principles of Management
  • Principles of Marketing
  • Oral Communication for Business
  • Business Writing
  • Job Search Strategies & Techniques
  • Computing Skills (If required. See Subject Exchange)
  • Financial Accounting OR Business Economics
    (This will depend on your start date )

   Timings for DBS :

  • Fast-track: 3 months (1 term)
    30 classroom hours per week + private study
  • Full-time: 6 months (2 terms)
    15 classroom hours per week + private study
  • Part-time: 1 year+ (3 terms or more)
    3 to 12 classroom hours per week + private study
  • Start dates: January, May, September.
